Chicago Public Library Look-Up Bookmarklet

Introduction

The Chicago Public Library (CPL) bookmarklet, allows you to easily search for any book, CD or DVD title against the CPL online catalogue.

How To Use

First install the bookmarklet for your browser. Once installed, you can search the CPL catalogue by selecting (highlighting) any piece of text in your current browser window and then clicking the CPL Catalog Look-Up bookmarklet button.

Search Tips & Ideas

• You can highlight the title of any book, CD or DVD at an online store such as Amazon, Barnes and Noble etc and then easily search the CPL catalog.
• Apart from title, you can also search by author, band name composer, movie title or ISBN reference number.

Installation

Firefox (v2 and v3), Safari and Chrome

Drag the link below named 'CPL Catalog Look-Up' to the Firefox bookmark bar.

Internet Explorer (version 7)

1) Right click the link below named 'CPL Catalog Look-Up' and the select 'Add To Favorites'

2) You may be warned 'You are adding a favorite that may not be safe. Do you want to continue?'. Select 'Yes'

3) Select the 'Links' folder and select 'OK'.
